SOLD: Trek 1200 Road Bike – 52cm – medium. Great for both men and women.Email This Post
This super-light aluminum Trek 1200 is quick, fast, and agile, due to exceptional geometry. It corners like a dream and is a super-smooth rolling bike. These bikes were built by Trek in the mid-eighties, but they are known for how well they hold up over time. This bike is no exception. We’ve smoothed out some of the scratches in the black paint and did a bit of touch-up. Then buffed it out for a beautiful shine. The color of the decals was originally magenta pink, but has faded to a white. Perfect for those of you men that feel a bit uncomfortable riding around with some pink on your bike.
The 1200 series is outfitted with a complete set of Shimano 105 components: brakes and levers, shifters, derailleurs, and cranks. This particular bike, we’ve updated the old tires with brand new racing tires, and even though the original tubes were OK we felt better about putting on brand new heavy duty thorn resistant tubes. If you’re concerned about grams, you may want to change them out for lighter or medium weight tubes, but we felt that these premium tubes would make the bike more versatile for city and commuter riding as well. We replaced the worn out handlebar tape with a black cork gel tape for comfort and sleekness. It includes a water bottle cage and sleek racing saddle.
We took the bike completely apart, cleaned it, and put in new grease to make it roll and maneuver like it just came off the assembly line. We also replaced the cables and housing.
This bike runs great and looks even better! Just take a closer look in the pictures below.
